If you are well organized, then packing up your own home is not that much of an issue. You mark the boxes with what they contain and what room they'll be going to.
However, if you are not at all organized in your day to day life, it might be worth the investment to pay someone to not only pack, but to help you unpacked in a timely and organized fashion.
What do you think? |

| To me packing is not the problem it's the moving. When we moved into the house we are in now it was only 20 minutes away from our previous home so we thought no problem..we also thought we didn't have that much stuff...haha 2 days and about a million trips later we finally got it all here. where does all this stuff come from? I will never move again without at the very least renting a Uhaul. One trip! |

| We just moved to a new house a month ago and the process was very stressful. I have a young child so that made packing and unpacking even harder. I think that next time we move (which won't be for a while) we will pay someone to do all the packing, loading, and unpacking. I think that will make for a much more enjoyable experience. |

I've had professional movers, paid for by an employer, and while it is much more convenient than packing yourself - it's incredibly expensive.
Many times, I have opted to pack myself and hired someone to move for me. It isn't too high if they are fast - if it's a local move - and it gets it all done quickly. |

| Packing is fine - it's really not that big of a deal as long as you invest in enough boxes. It's true, it's the moving that's the issue. You must must must have movers unless you own next to nothing. |

| A qucik note on professional movers. My parents were moved by a local company and they did great work but they were 8 hours late!!! Just make sure if you are depending on professional movers you use them before the last day you have to be out of the house. |

| i read from an article that to make unpacking more convenient both for you and for those who would help you, instead of labeling each box with its destination's name, you can give them colored stickers. like you could designate yellow for your kitchen, orange for the living room and so on. then you just have to post a colored sticker on each door.... |

I agree packing is usually a breeze as long as you have all the materials needed. Moving however should be done by a pro just to save your sanity |

yeah, not to mention the fact that you're only covered for those stuff which the movers have packed themselves. i have read from an online article that even if you intend to move a few blocks away from your house, you are better off paying a professional mover to help you than shoulder all the stress by doing every single work. |

| Every time we have moved, my husband's employer has paid for it and it's been great. I don't think I would know how to do it myself anymore! |
