When I left Las Vegas a few years ago Summerlin was the best place to buy a house because it was booming with new developments. Is it still the same today?

Yes, it's still a desired area to live in. There are good schools and a property managment system in place that keeps the area nice.

How does the property management work? Is Summerlin a housing develeopment with different builders, or is it one develeopment company that controls the entire area?

Summerlin is nice, and has great community features. But you pay for it with higher purchase prices, high development fees, and high HOA fees. If you go just a little further north, you still have schools with a good reputation, you trade their community features for the Durango Hills YMCA, it's easier to navigate the main streets (they're straight!), and IMHO you get more value for your money. _________________ bmagnus@bridgetmagnus.com
