| My house is a pretty nice little house, except the landscaping is a bit out of control. I haven't spent much time on it in the last few years because I have been busy having babies, so consequently it has grown a little wild. Is it worth it to invest in some professional landscaping just to get some curb appeal? |

Trick question really? Do you have the money to spend? You are paying mostly for the labor and little for the plants. If you can invest a little time on your part, you can get more bang for your buck by doing it yourself.
Are you selling soon? This time of year would be the best time to start preparing for the spring season.
What do you want from your yard exactly?
Sorry, I've got more questions than answers.
It is very important to have a crisp, clean landscape when you get ready to sell - however you have to go about it. |

If it's in Vegas, is it desert landscaping?
If the home is older and still has grass and a sprinkler system, now might be the time to update to a new landscape altogether. A buyer would enjoy paying lower water bills and you'd be doing the environment a favor, too.
Call landscaping companies for estimates. |

| I don't know, some people like grass - even in the desert. If you are selling immediately, I'd clean it up and make it look nice for the least amount of money. Then you could give a credit to the buyer for future landscaping as an incentive. |

| People do like grass, but new houses legally cannot have grass, right? Desert landscaping is mandatory in newer parts of Vegas. |

| I wouldn't think this would fall under the new rules. So get out with as little as you can spend and let the new owners do what they want. |

When I lived in Vegas, I was uncomfortable with all the water usage. They say that private homes use the most water for their lawns, but it has to be casinos.
Dishwashers run continuously (thousands of them) in every kitchen and bar! |

I wonder if they've figured out a way to recycle that water - especially the washing machine water. Since in rural areas that water just runs out into the ground, one would think if would be easy to roll around and use again.
As for the lawns, I would think that if you want to pay the price then you should be allowed to use the water - but I come from a place that never has to regulate water usage so it's hard for me to relate. |

You can't have grass????? I have never heard of such a thing is it just because the houses are new? Can you have grass later after you buy the house? Or is it just a water restriction thing? |

| It actually makes sense (and my grandfather would be so proud) since grass was never designed to grow in the desert in the first place. If more people would landscape to their area, then all of it would be easier to maintain. |

| Anything that you can do to improve upon your property is a good idea. However, the option to fix your lawn up could be something that would draw an investor/potential buyer. |

| I still can't be I saw this, but on one of the flip shows a guy put artificial grass in the area back by the pool. Is this becoming common in Arizona? No one but me seemed at all suprised by the "turf." |
